Privacy Policy
The Short Version
The Lowell Weekender is a free event guide. We do not sell your information, we do not have user accounts, and we only collect what we need to run the site, count visitors and show ads that keep it free. This policy took effect on October 25, 2026.
Advertising and Cookies
Ads on this site are served by Adsterra, and we may also use Google AdSense. These networks and their partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Adsterra describes what it collects and how to opt out in its privacy policy.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Visitor Statistics
We run a small self-hosted analytics script (counter.bullserv.dev) to see which pages are read and how the site performs. It records page views, the referring page, links clicked to leave the site, how far a page is scrolled, page load speed, and general browser and device type. It stores a random visitor ID in your browser so repeat visits are counted once. We use this only to improve the guide, and it is not shared with advertisers.
Event Submissions and Email
When you submit an event, the form is delivered to us through Formspree. We use your name and email only to follow up about that event, and we do not add you to any mailing list. If you email us or sign up for our newsletter on Substack, that information is handled by your email provider or by Substack under their own policies.
Stored on Your Device
The site remembers your font and dark-mode choices in your browser's local storage, and a service worker keeps a copy of the site so it works offline. Neither is sent to us. The weather in each day's header is fetched directly from Open-Meteo by your browser. You can clear all of this at any time from your browser settings.
Children
This site is a general-audience event guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
